Boyarka. Raiders in military uniform seized a UOC church

An organized criminal group, identifying itself as a territorial armed formation, seized the Pokrovska (Protection) UOC church.

The OCU raiders, accompanied by clergy, were assisted by police officers.

On the morning of September 7, 2024, a group of OCU raiders entered the grounds of the Pokrovska UOC church in Boyarka, Kyiv Oblast.

They blocked all entrances to the church and began breaking the locks.

Armed support for the perpetrators was provided by the local Volunteer Formation of the Territorial Community (VFTC), while the seizure was directed by OCU representatives led by Vasyl Lylo, who is already known for his involvement in the attack on the St. Michael's Church in May 2023.

A large number of police officers were present at the scene. Law enforcement personnel were actively assisting OCU supporters.

Video footage captured police officers handing over crowbars to break down the church doors, which provoked outrage among parishioners.
