The OCU raiders violated the agreement and cut the locks.
On February 28, 2025, a group of OCU representatives seized the St. Paraskeva Church of the UOC in the village of Serbo-Slobidka in the Zhytomyr Oblast.
Earlier, a group of activists with no connection to the parish voted to transfer the shrine to the OCU.
This occurred the day after a meeting of the religious community, where believers unanimously declared their adherence to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
The raiders falsified the church's documents and came to seize the church on February 26. They damaged the locks in the presence of police.
The activists were led by the head of the territorial community, Arkady Ratushnyak; the village mayor, Mykola Zakharchenko; the director of the Yablonivska Gymnasium, Natalia Yezhevskaya; and the director of the Serbo-Slobidka Gymnasium, Tatyana Litvinchuk.
As a result, the church was sealed pending a court decision.
On February 27, Orthodox Christians were forced to pray outside, accompanied by threats from activists. On February 28, the raiders from the OCU violated the agreement, cut the locks, and broke into the church.
