The seizure of the UOC Church of the Conception of St. Anne was one of the first in a series of wartime seizures. Armed men broke into the church during a service and drove the congregation out into the freezing cold.
On March 7, 2022, a group of armed men in military uniforms broke into the church during a service.
The faithful and clergy were forced out into the freezing cold and lined up outside the church. Armed with assault rifles, the men threatened the parishioners.
They demanded that the personal information of Orthodox Christians be handed over.
On March 9, 2022, two days after the seizure of the сhurch, the holy site was closed and declared the property of the village council.
