April 7, 2026
🔴 On April 7, 2026, employees of the TRC abducted and continued to detain Archimandrite Filaret for nearly two days.
He was ultimately released.
According to a report from the Vinnytsia Diocese of the UOC, employees of the TRC detained a cleric of the diocese — Archimandrite Filaret (Olivinsky) — in the city of Vinnytsia.
The diocese characterized the incident as "an actual abduction of a clergyman."
"Fr. Filaret's military registration documents were in proper order, but despite this, the archimandrite was taken to the TRC allegedly 'to complete the relevant documents, which should provide the possibility of a temporary deferment'" — the diocese reported.
Following his detention, the clergyman continued to be held on the premises of the TRC.
🔴 On April 9, more than a day after the abduction, Archimandrite Filaret was released from the TRC.
🔴 Current status:
According to the latest available information (April 2026), Archimandrite Filaret (Olivinsky) was free and had not been subjected to compulsory military service.
