Slovyansk. OCU raiders falsified documents for the UOC cathedral

Cathedral of Saint Alexander Nevsky of the UOC
Address: Donetsk region, Sloviansk city, Komyakhova str., 4
The Holy Alexander Cathedral of the UOC became a victim of an organized criminal group.
A group of unknown persons, led by an active serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Alexander Onishchenko, and under the supervision of OCU clerics, organized an illegal meeting.
The criminals simulated a meeting of the church's religious community, at which they decided to transfer the cathedral into the ownership of the OCU.
Despite the actual protest of the real community of the cathedral, the state registrar illegally made changes to the documents and replaced the owner.
On April 10, 2026, information appeared about the illegal re-registration of the St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral of the UOC to the OCU.
A corresponding entry appeared in Youcontrol. The organizer of the illegal re-registration and the fictitious head of the community was AFU serviceman Alexander Onishchenko, who stated on his YouTube channel that when organizing the transfer, he was guided by the intention to inflict maximum harm on the Russian Federation.

"If, from the first day of the full-scale war, I had killed one Moscow infantryman every day, I would not have inflicted as much harm on the Muscovites and benefit to Ukraine as freeing at least one single church in Ukrainian Donetsk region from Moscow occupation – the occupation by the Moscow Patriarchate, the occupation by that FSB scum," Onishchenko said.
The reason for the re-registration was a meeting of unknown persons led by Onishchenko, which took place on September 28, 2025, in an administrative building at 5 Olimpiyska Street. Despite the fact that the real community of the cathedral held its own meeting, where it expressed its desire to remain in the UOC, the authorities re-registered it as belonging to the OCU. After the event, Onishchenko submitted documents to the military administration.
"They (the real community of the cathedral – Ed.) tried to simulate some kind of separate meeting of theirs with some fantastic vote for the UOC of the FSB, but that circus did not work," Onishchenko said.
According to him, the cathedral has not yet been physically seized; the UOC community continues to serve there.
"The Moscow mob – it has been causing and, in fact, continues to cause maximum resistance, maximum resistance to our actions. However, we have already completed the formal side of the matter, and soon we, dear Ukrainians of Sloviansk – I believe – will be enjoying services and liturgies in the Ukrainian language in this cathedral," Onishchenko stated.
During the illegal re-registration to the OCU, the cathedral was renamed. In the documents, it is listed as the community of Faith, Hope, Love, and their mother Sophia.
