Archpriest Oleg Ostafyuk

🔴On January 26, 2026, it became known that clergymen of the Territorial Recruitment Center (TRC) detained Archpriest Oleg Ostafyuk, a cleric of the Chernivtsi-Bukovyna Diocese of the UOC.

The priest serves as the rector of the parish in honor of the Holy Great Martyr George in the village of Nyzhni Synevtsi, as well as the parish in honor of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in the village of Verkhnyi Synevtsi of the Hlyboka deanery.

According to reports from parishioners, Archpriest Oleg was stopped at a checkpoint and subsequently taken to the territorial recruitment center. Information regarding his further whereabouts is unknown.

The faithful of the Chernivtsi-Bukovyna Diocese called for intensified prayer for the detained priest, as well as for other clergy of the diocese who remain in the TRC.
