Archpriest Alexander Itsenko, Kyiv. Unlawful Mobilization
Archpriest Alexander Itsenko
🔴On January 28, 2026, in Kyiv, employees of the TCC detained cleric of the Kyrylivsky Monastery of the UOC, Archpriest Alexander Itsenko. The clergyman was stopped on his way to the All-Night Vigil, despite having documents confirming his belonging to the clergy.
According to church sources, TCC employees stated the need to "update data," after which Archpriest Alexander was placed in a minibus and taken to one of the territorial recruitment centers. After the detention, the clergyman was taken in an unknown direction.
Parishioners of the Kyrylivsky Monastery spread information about the incident and appealed to the faithful with a request for prayer support for Archpriest Alexander, noting that the clergyman, by his religious convictions, cannot take up arms.
