🔴On January 28, 2026, in Khmelnytskyi, employees of the TCC detained a cleric of the Khmelnytskyi Diocese of the UOC, the rector of the Pokrovsky Church of the village of Redvyntsi, Archpriest Maxim Moskalchuk.
The clergyman was stopped in the morning on his way to work, after which his phone was forcibly taken and he was brought to the Khmelnytskyi city TCC.
According to the diocesan press service, Archpriest Maxim agreed to serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but refused to bear arms due to his clerical rank and religious convictions. Following this, the clergyman was placed on a bus and taken to an unknown destination. There was no contact with him.

🔴On January 29, 2026, the Khmelnytskyi Diocese announced the release of Archpriest Maxim Moskalchuk after spending twenty-four hours in the TCC.
The diocese stated that the release was made possible by the public resonance and the prayers of the faithful. Upon his return, the clergyman resumed conducting services at the parishes where he serves as rector.
