On February 1, 2023, the Leninsky District Court of Kropyvnytskyi placed the priest under 24-hour house arrest.
The regional prosecutor's office petitioned the court to prohibit the priest from leaving his place of residence. According to prosecutors, the diocesan secretary may have gone into hiding and illegally influenced witnesses.
Despite the defense's objections and arguments that Father Roman is the family's sole breadwinner and therefore cannot be at home all the time, as well as requiring inpatient treatment, the judge placed him under 24-hour house arrest until February 28.
